FAQ's
Can i have treatment on the same day?
Your appointment begins with a thorough consultation where Ella will assess your facial anatomy, listen to your concerns, and recommend a personalised treatment plan, in conjunction with the medical team. There is no pressure to proceed, this is your time to ask questions and feel fully informed. A complimentary review appointment is included with every initial treatment, giving Ella the opportunity to assess your progress and address any questions.
Why can't specific treatment names be mentioned?
Australian law prohibits the advertising or naming of prescription-only injectable medicines in public-facing materials. This consultation is about understanding your concerns and exploring your options not promoting products.
Muscles of the face
Wrinkle reduction treatment works by relaxing specific facial muscles that cause lines and folds when contracted. Understanding which muscles are responsible for each concern helps Ella deliver a precise, targeted result in each area treated.
The frontalis muscle runs horizontally across the forehead and is responsible for raising the brows. Repeated contraction over time causes horizontal lines to form across the forehead, which can deepen with age as skin laxity increases.
The corrugator supercilii and procerus muscles draw the brows inward and downward, forming vertical creases between the brows. These lines can create a consistently stern or tired expression.
The orbicularis oculi muscle encircles the eye and contracts with every smile and squint. Over time, this repeated movement gradually forms fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes.
The platysma is a broad, flat muscle in the neck that can develop vertical, rope-like bands with age as the muscle loses elasticity and the overlying skin thins.
The masseter muscles are located at the sides of the jaw and are responsible for chewing and biting. When overactive or enlarged, they can alter the shape of the lower face, creating a wider or more squared appearance.
Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterised by excessive sweating beyond what is needed for temperature regulation, commonly affecting the underarms, hands, and forehead.
A gummy smile occurs when the upper lip elevators are hyperactive, causing an excessive amount of gum to show when smiling. This can restrict a person’s ability to smile and laugh comfortably.
A pebbled or “orange peel” texture on the chin is caused by overactivity of the mentalis muscle, which causes the chin surface to pucker both at rest and in motion.
Pre and post care
Before your appointment, following your consultation and approval by the medical team, there are a few simple steps to help ensure the best experience. It is generally advised to avoid alcohol and certain supplements for at least 24 to 48 hours prior, unless these are prescribed for medical reasons. On the day of your appointment, please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin and avoid vigorous exercise or heat exposure including saunas or hot yoga. Please inform Ella of any recent illness, dental work, vaccinations, or other medical procedures, as these may influence your treatment plan. Personalised preparation advice will be provided as part of your consultation.
Post care instructions will be provided verbally and sent via email on completion of your appointment. Common advice includes avoiding pressure on the treated area for at least four hours this includes lying down flat, touching or massaging the area, or applying makeup immediately afterward. It is also advised to avoid strenuous physical activity, alcohol, and hot environments for 24 hours. Some mild redness or small bumps at the treatment sites are completely normal and typically resolve within a few hours. Gentle skincare can be resumed the following day, and daily use of SPF is recommended. A complimentary review appointment is included with every initial treatment.
